Welcome to the Wolverhampton Airport Action Group (WAAG)

Wolverhampton Airport Action Group

WAAG was formed in 2003 to fight the proposed large –scale expansion into passenger transport by the then owners. Massive development in an unspoilt rural area would have resulted, including the likely resurrection of the dreaded Western Orbital.

Now in 2008, there are new owners, Mar Properties, who say they do not have plans for such expansion.

But the airport seems still to be loss making, and a further sale, possibly to another expansionist organisation, cannot be ruled out.

That is why WAAG is still as active and vigilant as ever, lobbying now to have new policies put in place which would render any future application to expand virtually impossible, whoever the owners.
